What the taskforce works on

• Community questions and concerns. Identify what communities are actually asking about: water, energy, rates, infrastructure, land use, jobs, and the public process.
• Plain-English education. Help create materials, FAQs, and event content that explain how data centers work and what questions communities should be asking.
• Local government and community engagement. Support conversations with city and county leaders, community groups, rural stakeholders, utilities, and economic development organizations.
• Best practices. Define what good engagement looks like before, during, and after a data center project is proposed.
• Action between events. Keep the work moving between AZDCA meetings so the effort produces useful tools, stronger relationships, and visible progress.

Who we're looking for

A mix of perspectives: data center operators and customers, local elected officials and municipal staff, community and rural voices, utility and infrastructure experts, economic development leaders, water and energy and land use experts, communications and education partners, and civic organizations.

The goal is not to have everyone agree on every issue. The goal is to have the right voices in the room, so the work is grounded, honest, and useful.

What's expected

This is a working group, not a mailing list. Members should expect periodic meetings, review of community-facing materials, and focused work between larger AZDCA events. The immediate goal is meaningful progress before the next community engagement session on September 17.
